Observed dwelling "Colorful house"

The Bulgarian Red Cross supervised housing "The Colorful House" in the village of Lozen was established within the framework of the project "Social Program for Providing Services and Support to Children and Young People Leaving Social Institutions", which is implemented with the support of the Velux Foundation and the International Federation of Red Cross/Red Crescent Societies. The social service "The Colorful House" supervised housing is a state budget-funded activity, under a contract between the Bulgarian Red Cross and the Sofia Municipality.
The activity of the supervised housing is aimed at providing shelter and support to young people aged 18 to 25, physically and mentally healthy, who have been raised in specialized institutions for children. The aim of the service is the reintegration of young people into society by improving their education and professional qualifications and acquiring basic skills for independent living in an environment close to the family. The capacity of the housing is 6 people, and the length of stay - up to 2 years, depending on the individual needs of the young people.
Within the framework of the social service, social and psychological consultations are provided to young people regarding:

We motivate young people to work, to know their civil rights and obligations, to pay taxes, to find permanent work and housing, and to start an independent life.
"The Colorful House" opened its doors in January 2012. Since then, more than 100 young people have been supported here in the process of their reintegration into society.
The system of methods for working with young people from this target group, developed by the team of the monitored housing, develops in them confidence in their own potential, a sense of competitiveness, proactivity, systematicity and perseverance in their actions.
